Yes, tonight I made the etsy front page! I wouldn’t have noticed it but Jen of JDWolfe Pottery notified me of it, thank you!

I also forgot to post this before Christmas, i was featured in Etsy Finds, which is a mailout that goes out to a whole slew of folks, that was really exciting too! It is really great to be selected/noticed,

especially when one starts to feel a little discouraged that one’s efforts are going unnoticed…heh.

Aaaanyway, tonight I was thinking about inspiration and how I go about getting inspired and the eternal question ‘what should i paint next anyway?’ I get confused these days because I often feel like I need to create FOR etsy, or people who might buy my work off etsy so I have generally been making work that is, how you say, pleasant. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. But it has taken me quite awhile to make ‘pleasant’ work. My paintings have always generally leaned towards the darker side. I think I am going to just paint whatever I want and let the chips fall where they may. The biggest key to selling art on etsy seems to me, to be making work that is 1) small-ish and 2) inexpensive-ish. So i bought some masonite panels that are about 5×5 inches, i will be working on some new pieces tomorrow and they will be listed in my shop starting this week…let’s see what happens…. This is one of my latest (larger) works in progress.
