We were at the feed store the other day to pick up some scratch grains for the chickens and we noticed some of those large containers with the baby chicks in them. We went up to them to check out the different varieties of chicks they had and to our surprise, we saw a different type of bird: baby ducks!! They were so cute, Todd couldn’t resist taking a few home.

One of the types we got is the Pekin. This breed originates from China and is the most common duck used for commercial meat production (our ducks sure lucked out! We’re vegetarians).

The other breed we got is the runner duck. They stand upright and look kinda goofy, but are good layers and foragers. They should be interesting!

Our ducks have about another month of being under their heat lamp and once it warms up, they’ll be able to go out in the back with the chickens and goats. Hopefully everyone will get along!

Oh, and none of them have names yet so if you think of a good name, write it in the comment section of this post and if we pick your name, we’ll send you a free pendant!

So I think i should include some kind of crafty content in this post, don’t you :-) Here’s a look at my latest feed bag purse and a couple wallets that I recently made. The dog chow bag is definitely my favorite!

I’m pretty proud of these!

Well I hope you all enjoyed!
